Join 3 Zoom + 1 in-studio prep sessions (not mandatory but highly encouraged):

• May 17 – 3:00 PM–3:30 PM: ZOOM MEETING. Script Q&A & costume planning.
• May 24 – 11:00 AM–12:30 PM: ZOOM MEETING Scene run-through & line test (Be Memorized)

AUDITION PROCESS: We are using the professional casting software Casting Networks for these auditions (info on creating account below.) This software is standard for most casting directors. Our company Phoenix Casting uses it for all of our professional local and national castings year round.

CREATING A PERSONAL CASTING NETWORKS PROFILE: In order to make this happen we need each camper to create a free actor profile at this website – www.castingnetworks.com Every actor should create a personal profile (If you are currently represented and have a profile with your agency please create a personal non-agent affiliated profile)

Once you have created the profile, please email us to confirm this step so we are certain you will get your audition request with self tape instructions and sides.

The audition request will come from Casting Networks to the email you used to set up your account. Step by step instructions will be attached to your request. Have a parent or sibling handy to help you access the information and video/upload your audition. This will be great practice and a vital skill for actors and parents for when you are given opportunities in the commercial and film market in AZ and beyond!

Valleywood Movie Camp is action packed. On most days, when time allows, we create a fun highlight reel of “behind the scenes” fun. Once camp starts come back here and click on the following link – VALLEYWOOD PLAYLIST – to see the latest videos posted. And while your there, go ahead and subscribe the to page 🙂

• Arrive by 7:50 AM (doors open at 7:50); pick-up at 2 PM
• Labeled script notebook each day
• Check in phones (studio phone for emergencies)
• Be a pro. This means be respectful to all staff, actors, faculty, facility, props & equipment.
• Plan to pick up at dismissal time (2PM each day). If an issue arises please communicate via studio text message at 480-313-9901.

• Bring a packed lunch each day (no off-site breaks)
• Microwave available; fridge space is limited
• Let us know about allergies in advance
• All actors are required to bring a packed lunch to camp daily.

• *Donations of snacks and/or drinks for the actors to keep them energized and feeling great during camp we would appreciate the gesture. Not too messy 🙂

RED CARPET FRIDAY

Friday Premiere – Bring day clothes + formal wear for red carpet

• 7:50 AM arrival; morning rehearsal & speech writing
• 11:45 AM guests arrive; red carpet photos at 12:00 PM
• 12:30 PM film premiere & 1:00 PM speech ceremony
• 2:00 PM—Cue confetti: You made a movie!

Take all your gear home—leftovers will be donated.
Optional post-camp Harkins screening Nov ’26 (date TBA) — invite friends for $15/ticket.

POST CAMP DETAILS

🎬 PREMIERE DAY – FRIDAY, JUNE 6TH 🎬

For Families of Valleywood Movie Camp

Actor Arrival:
All campers should arrive at their regular call time: 8:00 AM, dressed in normal daytime clothes.
Please pack formal wear for the red carpet walk, photo station, and speech ceremony.

Guest Policy:
Each camper may invite 2 guests, plus any lap-sitting siblings.

Parent & Guest Arrival:
Please plan to arrive at 11:45 AM.
Doors will remain closed until the red carpet walk begins.
If the weather is hot, we recommend waiting in your air-conditioned vehicle until just before 12:00 PM.

Premiere Schedule:

• 12:00 PM – Red Carpet Walk & Photo Station
• 12:15 PM – Movie Premiere Screening
• Following the Film – Speech Ceremony featuring our campers

IMPORTANT REMINDER:
All actors must take home their costumes, props, and personal items after the event.
Any belongings left behind at Dearing Acting Studio will be donated.

Version 2 will be screened at a local Harkins Movie Theatre (November 8th or 15th) and you can invite anyone to fill the seats to watch you on the “big screen” for $15/ticket.  We will screen BOTH Valleywood movies at this event.  

Since our black box theater can only accommodate 2 guests per camper for this event (not including siblings who sit on laps) we consider this screening to be Version 1 (a “really good rough draft”) while we wait for Version 2 – a professionally edited and polished version transformed over the summer and fall months.  

Additionally our staff will work to add your movie to IMDB, after the Harkins showing, so you get official credit for your work online.
