Mental Health Stigma

Mental Health Stigma

Welcome Back to the Dearing Acting Studio Podcast! Today we’re going deep and talking about the mental health stigma. We are not professionals in this field, however our goal is to spread light driven content to the world. In our society, mental health is something many people struggle to talk openly about. That’s something we’d like to see change one step at a time.

In our classes, we focus on personal development through the art of acting and our goal is to create better people. Read more about what we do here. Our beloved Shea Toepel is so brave and has been willing to speak out on her battle with mental health multiple times. Our hope is that people can listen to this and ask honest questions about how to help and be a part of the change!

Mistakes are Okay!

As human beings, we will all make a million mistakes in our lifetime. With that in mind, how we deal with our mistakes is up to us. We teach a concept in our acting classes that’s called Celebrate, Learn, Grow. In a nutshell, this just means you celebrate the “little wins” that you will have along the way.

You Learn from your mistakes, and make it a point to replace bad habits with good ones. Then in return, you grow from every situation you find yourself in. As you can see, these concepts go much deeper than acting, and we’ve seen the impact it has first hand. Check out this episode of our morning show, where one of our student’s shares the transformation she’s had through taking classes at our studio!

Impact

If there’s a major takeaway we’d like people to have here, it is that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Everyone in this world has a purpose, and we guarantee your impact is much bigger than you realize.

Everyone has an individual perspective and voice that needs to be heard. At our studio, our values are Pasion, Love, Mastery, and LOVE is at the center of everything we do. It’s a big ask, but if we can all love one another and give each other the benefit of the doubt, it empowers you to take control of any situation. On top of this, talk about it to the people in your circle who you trust and love. Frame them with exactly what you need, so they can help you, and love you through it!
